Paragon Transportation DO-178B/ED-12B COURSES
Paragon Transportation is pleased to offer two courses relating to DO178B/ED-12B. The courses offered are, a Practitioner's Course and Managers Course.
The Practitioner's Course is targeted at those required to develop or maintain an organization capable of developing and executing processes that meet all DO-178B/ED-12B objectives. This includes both developers as well as DERs. The Manager's Course is targeted at those individuals required to accurately predict, schedule, staff and manage programs that must satisfy all DO-178B/ED-12B objectives. This includes both Software Managers as well as Program Managers. These courses are both constructed to offer several unique aspects as described below.
Practitioner's Course
The practitioner's course is designed to teach software engineers that are engaged in DO-178B/ED-12B activities how to generate and practically apply processes that meet all DO-178B/ED-12B objectives based on all the latest interpretations. Recently, various certification agencies have coming together for certifications of integrated systems. This activity has identified the weak points from various organizations and DERs thus causing the need for uniformed understanding, interpretation and hence training of DO-178B/ED-12B throughout the industry. The practitioner's course is geared toward incoming software engineers foreign to DO-178B/ED-12B as well as seasoned software engineers and DERs needing a refresher course describing the latest interpretations of the certification authorities.
Software Managers/Program Managers Course.
This is a unique course not currently offered by any other organization. The course also ties in nicely with the latest corporate concept that is being pursued quite aggressively know as program management excellence. This concept attempts to teach managers, especially Program Managers, some high level technical aspects of the program. In this case, DO-178B/ED-12B requirements and objectives.
This course is designed to benefit both the Software Manager as well as the Program Manager. It provides the student with the knowledge to understand the technical aspects of DO-178B/ED-12B at a high level, what is required from a programmatic standpoint. This would include the program requirements associated with conducting Stage Of Involvement Audits (SOI)s. It would teach the managers how to spot and avoid pitfalls associated with DO-178B/ED-12B. It would also give them the knowledge to ask the appropriate pointed DO-178B/ED-12B questions of the developers, DERs as well as the certification liaison folks and be able to determine if they are getting accurate answers.
